The new Risk Center in Berlin centralizes multiple key global corporate functions underlining Deutsche Bank’s vision of integrated risk management.

The overall purpose of this role is to establish a Data Analytics team within the Berlin utility with the task of managing business growth as part of wider divisional initiative involving the development of a near-shore Risk Operations hub. The Data Analytics team is responsible for developing and delivering key tactical applications, for ensuring an efficient and robust data infrastructure and supporting regular/ad-hoc MIS requirements.

Main responsibilities

• Perform analytical assessments of datasets and information flows across an extensive range of business types and systems
• Accurately interpret processing needs across consumers ranging from operational to senior management
• Target and deliver process efficiencies/re-engineering opportunities
• Effectively market the successful delivery of initiatives
• Conduct MIS development and reporting
• Develop tactical applications

Key competencies

• High school leaving qualification (Abitur)
• 2-5 years’ experience within a banking/financial organization
• Wide-ranging knowledge of financial products, including derivatives
• A strong understanding of Credit, Market and Operational Risk, and associated risk mitigation techniques
• Up-to-date knowledge of key developments across the financial landscape, e.g. Basel II/III
• Very good English language skills (essential)
• Good MS Office skills (Excel, Access, VBA)
• Strong understanding of relational database/SQL concepts
• Knowledge of SQL Server 2000/2005
• Web development experience - ideally ASP.Net, VB.Net, including object-orientated programming, web design, CSS and Ado.net (beneficial)
• Project management skills and experience (beneficial)
